[Back to Jack Be Jumping documents]
Children between the ages of 9 and 15. The provided base levels are pretty easy, but the passcode-generated levels often require some mechanical skill to successfully complete.
The game is cartoony, but at the insistence of one of the teenage playtesters, there is a plan to introduce some limited (usually avoidable) jump scares in version beta release 2.
An auto-running platformer. It differs from an endless runner in that the levels are of finite length and there is no scoring mechanism.
Certain environmental features interact with Jack negatively. For instance, candles set him increasingly on (non-realistic) fire.
Not yet implemented, but in beta 2 onward there will be lightly spooky music and mild jumpscares that are triggered if you don't successfully evade certain items in the environment. The game's play area is dimly lit to set up some of those scares.
